BLAST in Paris!

In January we're having a fanmeet with a handful of people in Paris, so I used my wonderful photoshop skills (coughmashingtwopicstogethercough) to create a logo for our very own Blast in Paris~

Don't laugh okay, it's totally art :D

(¬_¬)ノ

So this is for sf's let's-make-stuff-with-duct-tape thingy. It's basically a tiny box of weaved washi tape stuck together with more washi tape. The glass is for scale.

I did say I had the creative ability of a stone, so don't say I didn't warn you.

Posting this here because I can't for the life of me work with lj-cuts, and I don't want to spam the whole entry with my pictures.

Hey, look at that. After messing up many times the cut finally worked. Yay. I'm still not transferring this back to the comments though, that would be *effort*.

Platina Data

I'd finally downloaded Platina Data and I thought I'd just give the first five minutes a shot to see if the movie was really as great as I was expecting it to be and then to go to bed. So of course two hours and thirty minutes later I end up watching the credits and dreading a really sleepy me tomorrow. I really should know myself better by now.

But this movie! It's fantastic! There are no characters that make you want to bash their head into a wall in irritation/frustration, no actions that make you go like "WHY WOULD YOU DO THAT???", and most fantastic of all (except for Nino cos NINO) the movie never loses it's pace. No really, it just keep going and going and somehow you just end up watching the entire thing at once. And this movie really proved to me again just how great an actor Nino is (and also that I have indeed become a fangirl capable of recognising my idols by a graphic of their nose).

It's so weird to see Nino with facial hair though, even if it's so very very little. Maybe he couldn't grow let it grow for more than a day or so every time because of idol-like work to do?

Also there was this bit where Nino was doing programmy stuff, and it looks so incredibly convincing simply because of his typing speed. His fingers just kinda zoom over the keyboard but he's still undeniably really typing and even though we all know why that is, it's still amazing.

Sekamuzu Ep. 1

So I actually managed to finish the first episode! I was totally convinced that this was going to be one big cringe-fest with me constantly pausing the video to try and forget yet another embarrassing action by Samejima, but it was actually surprisingly good a drama. Well, compared to what I was expecting, at least. I only had to pause the video three times, and one of those was when Reiji came out of the bath to admire Oh-chan's wet hair face. If I knew how to take a screenshot I'd probably have made it my background <3

Samejima is surprisingly likeable. I do hope they keep the Wade-being-better-at-something scenes at a low level, since those just result in Reiji awkwardly standing around which isn't much fun to watch. But he definitely isn't the 'human version of Kaibutsu-kun' as Ohno has been calling him, so that's (on my part at least) a relief. Not that I don't like Kaibutsu-kun, but one of them is enough.

Also, Muraoki and Ishigami I think he's called, they're kind of like Reiji's concerned parents and it's absolutely adorable.

All in all I'm actually looking forward to the next few episodes. I'm now convinced that I'll be able to finish this drama even with the many awkward moments which are bound to come :)

(Also, Non-chan <3)

Timing/encoding project

One of my first attempts to time/encode something, simply to figure out how the programs work. It's far from perfect, as I still don't get most of it. How does one change the position of the subtitles in the video?
Posting this here so I can access it from my laptop.

Of French exams and Venezualian conductors

Or, The One Time That Spending All Of My Free Time Watching Brain-Numbing Japanese Variety Shows Actually Helped Me In Real Life

So in my French exam there was a text about the Venezualian conductor Gustavo Dudamel, and inside my head I just went like 'IknowhimfromthatonetimeMatsujunwasonShabekurithisisawesomeohmygod!!!' and I wanted to tell everyone so badly because technically Matsujun was helping me in life and that's awesome but I couldn't because, exam regulations and all that. That, and no one at my school cares about Arashi. Or about Shabekuri. Or about Venezualian conductors. Their loss, really.

Btw, this was actually the first time that I scored over a point higher for French than for German, I think. Thank you Matsujun! :)

Introduction

Hello~

So this is my very first post in my journal, mainly because I thought that I ought to test how this works, and not because I've got anything substantial to say. I say it's my first post, but it's also quite likely to be the last, since I unfortunately don't have anything to add to the fandom and don't use Livejournal for personal ends.

I don't think that anyone will ever end up reading this, since, again, I'm no more than a passive observer in the fandom, but I'll take this opportunity to briefly introduce myself.

My first name is Floor (and yes, that actually is a real name) and my last name shall forever remain a secret. Harhar. I'm currently in my last year of high school, and therefore probably shouldn't spend quite as much time haunting the net as I actually do.
I am also Dutch. Contrary to popular opinion, this does not equate doing drugs all day. We also do not speak German.

Moving on to the most important bit: fandom. I've currently multiple things which I am interested in, but the strongest and most time-consuming right now is by far Arashi. It basically occupies my every single free minute. My other fandoms are seriously suffering.
My Arashi-discovering-path went something like this: Watching Hanadan --> Watching Ichi Rittoru no Namida --> searching Youtube for clips of Nishikido --> coming across a horribly low quality episode of VS Arashi, and recognising Domyouyi --> being curious wth he was doing --> starting to research Arashi. That was about four months ago, and I haven't really stopped since.
I don't know much Japanese beyond the basic fangirl-vocabulary, but I'm slowly learning. Really slowly. Next year though, I'm going to study it properly.

I don't have any fellow Arashi fans at school or anywhere, really. It's quite lonely. At least my mom recognises the members by now. She's had to endure enough of my fangirling to have a favourite, even.
My bias is Ohno, because of reasons.

Edit: since not all of this introduction is applicable anymore, I'll write a new one sometime in the foreseeable future, probably. Maybe. Or maybe not. I'm lazy.
